Juche Rules (Trailer and Film Links)

Juche Rules, a dramatic short film about a journalist’s harrowing trip through oppressive North Korea, written by Mark Niu, based on his own experiences. Juche Rules has received critical acclaim, being accepted to over fifteen international film festivals and winning Best Drama at the 2010 Poppy Jasper Film Festival. Juche Rules also won Best Drama at the 2010 Moondance Film Festival. The film was nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2010 Edgemar Film Festival. Lead actor Roy Vongtama was nominated for Best Actor at the 2010 American International Film Festival. Juche Rules was picked up for distribution by IndieFlix in late 2010 for DVD and online distribution.

The Zone (Sizzle Reel)

The Zone is a neighborhood run by two warring gangs: one Asian, one Black. The Zone is ER meets The Wire. The pilot centers around a former Asian gangbanger who comes back to his neighborhood as a doctor to start an addiction clinic. Can Ray, this former gang member, protect the people he loves and save his clinic without succumbing to the violence of his past?

The Zone was the winner of the 2010-2011 Fox Diversity/MAPID Pilot Shootout. The Zone was created by Roy Vongtama.
